I realized that for a lot of people, getting into the world of K-Pop is like being thrown into a pit of content and then having more content thrown on top of them. When I first started caring about GOT7, I had no idea just how many different websites I would have to visit, how many videos I would have to watch, and how much I would have to remember. On terminology alone I was seriously overwhelmed and that was just the start of it. I spent hours trying to remember names, fun facts, roles, and I still had to use a ton of different sites just to gather that information. That’s why I wanted to put together a resource for everyone to look over and get a guide of where to turn to really get into K-Pop.
I want this resource to be comprehensive so I’m going to break it up into parts:
This is gonna be everything from DailyMotion to watch shows that YouTube won’t let anyone upload to Dramafever where people can watch K-Dramas with their favorite idols. I know quite a few of the sites that I definitely want on there, but I know that what I know is not comprehensive so if you think of one that I haven’t listed here, please let me know.
Obviously a good chunk of the news sites that cover K-Pop are not always the most reputable, but they do offer quite a bit of guidance when crazy bombshells drop so they are important to know.
There are clearly a ton of shows for fans to sift through when they first become a K-Pop fan but there a few that are universal for having a good following and providing fans with an opportunity to see their idol in a totally different light.
Let’s be real, for a lot of us our love for K-Pop started with sites you wouldn’t normally expect. Sometimes the strangest or least expected resources can end up being the most helpful.
This is by no means the actual final list. The real comprehensive guide will have infographics, helpful tips, glossaries (not of Korean words but weird little niche K-Pop terms–we’re not here to support koreaboos), and a whole lot more. But! I want to make sure that I have absolutely everything and I know you all are the best resources I could possibly ask for. So if you look at this post and think “Oh my god, how could she possibly have forgotten this?” then by all means leave a comment and let me know! I have a feeling this will be a lot more helpful as a collaborative project than me trying to tell the internet where to go and what to do.
This list could’ve been perfect if you didn’t put Allkpop and Koreaboo, that are known for defaming artists with unfounded rumours (want proof – Tablo and Ailee past cases are perfect examples) in the same sentence with such reliable source as Soompi is. Allkpop has been know as biased towards selected idols and haters towards others, and they won’t think of any humanity when coming up with article headlines, even if it will cost a god damn artist’s image.

That’s very true. I think it’s important to include them to say those things you just told me because a lot of fans come in with the idea that those are just as reliable as Soompi. So instead of including them as valuable resources, I’ll put a warning with them so new fans know not to trust them.
