Can you tell I’m on a roll this week? With the new BTS release on the horizon, I honestly couldn’t get them out of my head. Whenever that happens, I always turn to YouTube to reminisce and inevitably end up watching dance practices. There are a few that I return to again and again because they’re quintessential BTS. So in case you’re a new fan and wondering which dance practices to watch, here are my top 5.

5. War of Hormone (Real WAR Version)

There are a couple different War of Hormone dance practices and everyone has their favorite. The original takes place outdoors in front of the school (?) where they filmed the actual music video, and there’s also a very cute Halloween version of them in costume. This one, though, is precious. I don’t know what “Real WAR” means but you can tell they’re all there just to have a good time.

4. Beautiful

Even some older fans forget about this little masterpiece brought to us by the maknaes plus Hoseok (alternatively also sunshine line plus Jungkook). It’s such a cute song and the choreography is equally adorable. Honestly, just watching it puts me in a good mood because it’s such a throwback.

3. Special Choreography – Blanket Kick

This is one of my favorite BTS songs period, but this choreo only serves to solidify that. It’s so perfect for the cute ass song and I love that it gives them a moment to just be silly. 2015 was one of my favorite years to be an ARMY and this is a perfect example of why.

2. I Like It Pt. 2

This is, objectively, one of BTS’s best songs. I know that’s a bold claim but just listen to it and tell me that you don’t agree. The choreo is also amazing with just the right combination of soft and sexy. They filmed this on the same day that they filmed the Baepsae dance practice and you can tell they gave this one the same energy.

1. Blood, Sweat, & Tears

This should come as no surprise to anyone who has seen BTS in dance practice. This dance practice is not only a perfect example of their skill as dancers, but it also shows how much progress they have made as performers from the beginning of their careers. This is also one of their most artful choreos and one of their best title tracks, so watching this is just a satisfying experience all around.

BTS offers us as fans a plethora of dance practices. Through every era, we can see their styles change, their skill level increase, and their music develop. I love dance practices because they transport me back to that moment, that comeback, and remind me of the excitement that I felt. With BTS, dance practices are a way they stay connected with us. Even with all their fame, they still take the time to give us bonus content like dance practices because they know it matters to us.
