K-Bops in K-Pop

Me Gustas Tu is one of those songs that just kind of exists in the background as one of the truly great debuts of a girl group. The problem with it, of course, is that GFRIEND is so talented that all of their other comebacks have outdone their previous ones. Every time they come out with a new song it seems to raise the expectations of what they’re capable of and that’s what makes them so successful.

This song is an excellent introduction into what GFRIEND offers. It has killer vocals, amazing choreography, and it’s a well-composed song that’s just catchy enough to get you singing without being so repetitive that it’s annoying. After it came out, nearly everyone was tripping over themselves to cover it, including some boy groups.

GFRIEND is a strong group, with ample respect in the community because they deliver consistency as well as excellence. Me Gustas Tu had tremendous potential and that’s why it remains one of the most prominent debuts of their generation.
